Known for it's exciting and flavor packed cuban cusine, Casona, in Collingswood, NJ has a particular entree whose presentation really caught my eye. Featuring multiple types of flavored guacamole Casona adds a unique twist beyond the basics, fried plantain strips supplementing the traditional corn tortilla chips. Foodies might at first see this as an opportunity to taste something different, but I'll submit it's also an opportunity to SEE something different too. Restaurant after restaurant show you the same thing over and over. As you'll see below, Casona really kicks up the visual with a mortar filled with guacamole on what appears to be a banana or other culinary leaf. These two presentation techniques really add an aesthetic value beyond terrific flavor.
