When it comes to selecting colors surrounding the presentation of your foods to customers & guests, it's more important than you have guessed!
Many of these same principles apply to food & retail merchandising as seen below.  Take a look at what various colors tend to communicate in the customer's mind.  Here's what we can learn from this graphic:
