Fire & Ice is a unique Mongolian Grill Restaurant concept at the base of Heavenly Ski Resort. In addition to outside fire pits with relaxing chairs to spend time with friends and family, there is an interesting menu. Selecting a plate full of a large variety of proteins, vegetables, starches, salad ingredients, and sauces diners can create custom plates of pasta, rice, or noodle dishes. Guests bring their selected items to a central grill area where a skillful chef is cooking entrees while demonstrating acrobatic effects with two hand-held metal spatulas. Continued below.
We're featuring this restaurant because of their innovative restaurant design and custom buffet fixtures and lighting as seen in the photos below. The concept has a very vibrant color scheme, seating, and theme. Great job utilizing custom glass and wire fixtures for effective sneeze guards. The bright red signage is easy to read and effective. We especially appreciate the careful attention to detail setting ingredients in the crushed ice which rounded out the theme nicely. Learn more at http://www.fire-ice.com/.

Known for it's exciting and flavor packed cuban cusine, Casona, in Collingswood, NJ has a particular entree whose presentation really caught my eye. Featuring multiple types of flavored guacamole Casona adds a unique twist beyond the basics, fried plantain strips supplementing the traditional corn tortilla chips. Foodies might at first see this as an opportunity to taste something different, but I'll submit it's also an opportunity to SEE something different too. Restaurant after restaurant show you the same thing over and over. As you'll see below, Casona really kicks up the visual with a mortar filled with guacamole on what appears to be a banana or other culinary leaf. These two presentation techniques really add an aesthetic value beyond terrific flavor.
